Requirements:

SDR Control for Icom can be used for the following Icom Transceivers:

  • IC-705
  • IC-9700
  • IC-7610
  • IC-R8600
  • IC-7300 via USB

USB Connections or other Transceivers are not supported. This may follow in later versions depending on demand.

The App runs on any Mac that supports at least macOS 13 (Ventura), ideally macOS 14 (Sonoma). There is no relevant RAM or Hard-drive space requirement but a fast CPU would be an advantage. The App runs natively on both Intel and M1/M2/M3 Macs.

In order to access your Radio from the Internet from a remote location, certain settings in your Router (explained in the Manual) are necessary for Data passing to and from the Transceiver.

If you have purchased the App once from the AppStore (thank you!) you can run it on several additional Mac’s with any number of Icom Transceivers you own. No additional purchase is necessary. You only have to use one and the same Apple ID on all your Macs.

Questions and answers:

Q:

I have paid for this App and like to use it on another Mac. Do I have to pay again?

A:

No, once paid for a Mac App it can be used on several Macs which are using the same Apple ID.

Q:

I have paid for this App and like to use it on my iPad, is that possible ?

A:

No, this App has been developed and designed for the Mac with features that are only possible on a desktop computer like a Mac. However, there is another separate App which has been designed for the iPad.

Q:

I have more than one Icom Transceiver. Can I use the App for multiple Transceivers?

A:

Yes, you can use the App with multiple Transceivers but you can only use it with one at a time.

Q:

First, the supported Transceivers needs to offer certain features for the communication to the App including Waterfall. Some older Icom Transceivers don’t support this or just a very limited set. And finally, I have to own the Transceiver for development, testing and support.

Yes, the App includes a CAT-Server which can be used to interface with any App that supports network CAT such as RigCtl / Hamlib, Icom or Kenwood CAT over the network and selectable Audio devices.

Q:

Where can I buy SDR-Control for Icom?

A:

The App is only available on Apple’s Mac AppStore

Q:

Where can I get support in case of issues?

A:

For this, all of my Apps have a “Contact Developer” button in the “Information & Support” section of the Preferences Menu.

Q:

Is there a Manual for the App?
